This was one of my favorite songs to sing in elementary school. I loved how spooky it sounded, and wanted to enhance that feeling in my own interpretation of it.
I recently performed in my church's virtual Christmas Program, and thought I'd share the song here with all of you as well. Just a simple little home video, but this traditional English carol means a lot to me and I love singing it.
This is an old English carol that's quickly found a home in my heart, and I hope you enjoy it too. Merry Christmas!
We certainly have some bizarre lullabies here in the States, but scaring little ones into staying in bed with the threat of wolves dragging them off to the woods sounded very Halloweeny to me, haha. I read a lot of translations online and localized them into my own English rhyme.
I hope you all have a warm and cozy winter. ♥️
I grew up knowing two melodies to these lyrics, and wanted to sing them both. Wishing you and yours the warmest of holiday spirits.
Happy Easter, lovelies! ❤
Merry Christmas from me and Ignis! :)
This has been one of my favorite Christmas songs (second only to Carol of the Bells) for as long as I can remember. It's such a haunting and contemplative melody, and I did my best to capture how it makes me feel in this little rendition of mine.
When I looked up the lyrics to learn them for this cover, I was surprised at how somber the message actually is! But I love songs that offer a closer perspective on people, and this one shows a very fearful, yet nurturing side of Mary.
After months of work and language study, here is my first-ever album of lullabies from around the world! I believe a song carries a story of the culture it originates from, and it was so wonderful and inspiring to listen to the stories these lullabies told in their native tongues.
I wanted to record this uplifting traditional song for my mother-in-law, to give her a little piece of cheer.
This is one of my baby's favorite songs, so I wanted to share it with all of you. It's a traditional North American folk lullaby that has many variations (and origin theories, some of which are absolutely heartbreaking), but this is how I sing it to my daughter.
