Riddle of Strider
I had the pleasure of working with Hungarian producer, Olivér Kovács, on a new original song based on Tolkien’s beloved poem by the same name.
Into the West
This cover has been a long time in the making. Jack recorded such a heavenly orchestration for it, and I teared up several times singing with it.
Shankill Butchers
I've been singing this song 'round the house since my university days, and finally decided to record it. The Decemberists made such a fantastically eerie lullaby from a real piece of Ireland's bloody history.
Know My Name
A song I wrote for my Circle of Stars druid. She's my longest running D&D character, and one that has a special place in my heart. :) She's also a unicorn.
Lullaby of Woe (Remastered - LYRICS)
For those who prefer the ambience of a still image and lyrics rather than a music video, here you go!
Lullaby of Woe (Remastered)
When CDPR initially reached out to me to be a part of their next-gen launch stream, I couldn't believe it. I was so excited to get a chance to revisit my old cover, re-recording all the vocals, re-producing the orchestration and effects, and polishing it to match the upgrade Witcher III: Wild Hunt is getting. Maybe the differences are too subtle to notice, but I certainly felt more sinister recording it this time around.
May It Be
Jack and I have been working on several Lord of the Rings songs together for quite some time now, and chose to share this one first.
I Put a Spell on You
Nobody can top Bette Midler's original spin on this song, it's phenomenal. But I wanted to try my hand at a darker, more sinister version and see where it went.
Hoist the Colours
I wanted to make this cover a sister to "My Jolly Sailor Bold", but also deliver something unique and tumultuous. Ryan absolutely delivered with his epic, sea-worthy production.
Once Upon a December
I've been working on this song for a very long time, but never felt it was ready until Ryan came along with his magic wand and truly made it sparkle.
Touch
I started writing this song the moment I finished my first Dragon Age: Inquisition playthrough, YEARS ago. It's gone through several revisions, and it was only with the magic of Ryan's breathtaking orchestration and production that I was able to finally bring it to life!
Ghost of John
This was one of my favorite songs to sing in elementary school. I loved how spooky it sounded, and wanted to enhance that feeling in my own interpretation of it.
Love Came Down at Christmas
I recently performed in my church's virtual Christmas Program, and thought I'd share the song here with all of you as well. Just a simple little home video, but this traditional English carol means a lot to me and I love singing it.
Walking in the Air
This has been one of my absolute favorite winter songs since I heard Chloë Agnew sing it on Celtic Woman decades ago. Her ethereal musical style inspires so much of mine, and if she ever saw this video, I hope it would make her happy.
Scarborough
I wanted to tell the perspective of the slighted girl who it was written for, and how she twists her ex-love's words back at him in a curse. She was ready to let bygones be bygones, but after hearing the petty song he wrote for her, snapped back. Hopefully now he'll learn to never again scorn a witch.
Tili Tili Bom
The scariest version for me is still the original Russian, perhaps because I don't speak it, and isn't most fear rooted in the unknown? But I absolutely loved making this English cover and hope you enjoy it as well.
My Jolly Sailor Bold
I loved channeling my inner siren for this song, and hope you all enjoy my interpretation.
The Fairy King
I wanted to create a song about a girl who becomes enchanted with the fair folk and is lost forever in their eternal dance.
Icarus
This is a very personal and cathartic song. I've been trying to write it for years, and it was only after hearing Ryan's gorgeous piano that I was able to complete these lyrics.
Stars Collide
This song began as a synth pop track for my favorite Mass Effect couple, then Ryan fully orchestrated it and it became something so much more.
All is Found
The moment I heard this song in the film, I wanted to sing it. What an enchanting little lullaby it is, based off traditional Norwegian lullabies.
In the Bleak Midwinter
This is an old English carol that's quickly found a home in my heart, and I hope you enjoy it too. Merry Christmas!
In Your Arms
My first collaboration with multi-platinum Universal Music producer, Ryan Louder. A song written for an age-old love.
Bayu Bayushki
We certainly have some bizarre lullabies here in the States, but scaring little ones into staying in bed with the threat of wolves dragging them off to the woods sounded very Halloweeny to me, haha. I read a lot of translations online and localized them into my own English rhyme.
Perfect Day
One of my most cherished shows as a child was "The World of Peter Rabbit and Friends". I loved the stories and beautiful animation, and was especially enchanted by the theme song, "Perfect Day", originally performed by Miriam Stockley.
Sing We Now of Christmas
I hope you all have a warm and cozy winter. ♥️
Master Mirror
When I first heard Master Mirror's theme being sung by children on the side of the road as I trotted by astride Roach, the hairs on the back of my neck stood completely up. Gaunter O'Dimm is a terrifying creature and I love to hate him.
Hush Little World (Full Album)
After months of work and language study, here is my first-ever album of lullabies from around the world! I believe a song carries a story of the culture it originates from, and it was so wonderful and inspiring to listen to the stories these lullabies told in their native tongues.
Song of the Sea
I fell in love with this studio's work back when they made The Secret of Kells, and then again with Song of the Sea. So, of course, I had to cover the theme.
Away in a Manger
I grew up knowing two melodies to these lyrics, and wanted to sing them both. Wishing you and yours the warmest of holiday spirits.
The Witch's Daughter
As I was rocking my daughter to sleep one night, I was trying to think of a Halloween song I could sing to her that wasn't too scary, and decided to make up my own.
All the Pretty Little Horses
This is one of my baby's favorite songs, so I wanted to share it with all of you. It's a traditional North American folk lullaby that has many variations (and origin theories, some of which are absolutely heartbreaking), but this is how I sing it to my daughter.
River Lullaby
Ofra Haza was a vocal and linguistic goddess, and I've looked up to her singing prowess since I saw The Prince of Egypt in theaters, back in 1998. This is my humble tribute to her and to this incredible film. May she rest in peace.
Spring Has Come
I wanted to record this uplifting traditional song for my mother-in-law, to give her a little piece of cheer.
For the Beauty of the Earth
Happy Easter, lovelies! ❤
Can't Help Falling in Love
A simple Valentine for my love. This is the song we dance to, and the song I hold in my heart whenever I think of you. ♥
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
Merry Christmas from me and Ignis! :)
O Willow Waly
I received a lovely email requesting I make a cover of this enchanting song from the 1961 classic "The Innocents". This is a story I've seen on stage ("The Turn of the Screw") and it translates beautifully on-screen.
Happy
A very simple little song I wrote what seems a lifetime ago for a flame that has since extinguished.
Lullaby of Woe
Witcher 3 is a masterpiece. The music alone takes my hand and leads me to another world. I find it so beautifully ironic that a monster would be singing about a bogeyman... a Witcher, no less.
Enchanters
This was my first time working with Ignis, and it was inspiring recording alongside his beautiful playing. We both love Dragon Age: Inquisition, especially the tavern songs, and hope you enjoy our little rendition of "Enchanters"!
I Wonder As I Wander
This has been one of my favorite Christmas songs (second only to Carol of the Bells) for as long as I can remember. It's such a haunting and contemplative melody, and I did my best to capture how it makes me feel in this little rendition of mine.
Casper's Lullaby
I was working on a completely different song for Halloween, but halfway through, I experienced a very unexpected heartbreak and the music inside me quieted. I began playing "Casper's Lullaby" on the piano as a way to bring back my music with its nostalgia.
Noble Maiden Fair
I wanted to sing this for mothers, for those who have held their babies and for those who have lost them, for those who adopt children into their homes and for those who are there for others when no one else is. Your strength gives others life and is much needed. ♡ Tapadh leibh, noble ladies.
Hush
Summertime is the spooky season in Japan (chills keep the heat away) so I’ve created a song to reflect a Japanese ghost story.
If We Hold On Together
Sleep sweetly, James, we love and miss you so much already. Thank you for sparking so much magic inside us and leaving behind you a legacy of music for generations to cherish.
Nightingale's Eyes
I've been playing Dragon Age: Inquisition endlessly since its release and I knew I wanted to cover its beautiful bard songs. This is the first one I heard when stepping into Haven's tavern... so now Korozjin and I present our version to you.
Ballad of the Forresters (Talia's Song)
This was such a powerful song in Telltale's episodic Game of Thrones game, I had to pay tribute to it with my own interpretation. There are many lyrical variations depending on the choices you make in the game, and these are the lyrics Talia sang for my Ethan.
Child of Light
This game is very dear to me, and I wanted to celebrate it in the best way I knew how, with music.
The Coventry Carol
When I looked up the lyrics to learn them for this cover, I was surprised at how somber the message actually is! But I love songs that offer a closer perspective on people, and this one shows a very fearful, yet nurturing side of Mary.
Come Little Children
This is my interpretation of the iconic (and very spooky) song from Hocus Pocus. Stealing children to gobble up... it's so dark!
The Last Unicorn
This was one of my favorite films as a child. I've been wanting to do a tribute for a while now, and when Karliene joined the project, I immediately knew the direction I wanted to take. With her beautiful voice, I was able to complete this dream!
Aisling's Song
I do apologize for smiling while recording this slightly melancholy song -- I just adore this film so much. The marriage between Christianity and Paganism, showing harmony rather than painting one as worse than the other, is lovely to me.
Say Something
Gads, Shady's voice is angelic. He really carries this song! I could barely get through it without sobbing.
Every River
Fox approached me with this song, the lyrics full of so much heartache and love, I wanted to convey those feelings through my voice.
